Sustain Lorain committee regrouping

LORAIN — Voters can expect to see the Committee to Sustain Lorain to come out soon with a campaign against Issue 23, the initiative to repeal the reduction of Lorain’s income tax credit.
The Sustain Lorain Committee previously promoted the former Issue 10, Lorain’s quarter percent income tax issue that city voters approved in May 2009.
Yesterday a core group of more than dozen committee members had a strategy meeting to discuss ways to get information to absentee voters, said Lorain Mayor Tony Krasienko, who will be committee co-chairman with city Treasurer Karen Shawver.
The group also plans to update www.sustainlorain.com, create a Facebook page "because it’s free," and various "friendraising" events to build attention and raise campaign money, Krasienko said.

""Lorain’s quarter percent income tax issue that city voters approved in May 2009.""??

We the voters turned this down.
When that failed 'they' declared it an emergency tax increase and pushed it through anyway and it stayed for almost 1 year and I believe it expired.

If this comes up again, it will be defeated again!

The group that collected signatures to get issue 23 on the ballot has also launched a website and has had a Facebook page to support issue 23. http://www.yesonissue23.com
